There is definitely a place for an unchurch. Churches, even the 'primitive' Protestant denominations of America, have gotten pretty codified and unapproachable to outsiders. I think as church-goers (rather than members of the universal church), we need to recognise that it's our personal taste for ritual and structure and not something that's essential to worshipping God.
